Shipment

THE K HANDMADE FAMILY FACTORY provides shipping services to our customers. There are three different shipping methods, including sea shipment, air shipment and express.

1. Sea Shipment

When it comes to international import and export, ocean freight or sea freight is the preferred shipping method. Ocean freight is one of the most secure, cost-effective and reliable methods of international transportation. For the majority of importers, low prices are some of the main advantages why importers choose to deliver their cargo by sea. Sea shipment is cost effective, but with longer shipping lead-time, around 30-45 days. It is the most common used for bulk order, no matter 100 pairs or 10,000 pairs, with the container freight transportation of cargo by shipping lines, goods are packed in shipping containers. In this shipping method, manufacturer makes booking with the assigned forwarder of different clients, and the freight forwarder books the space or container with the ship agent, after then cargo is trucked to the shipping vessel at the port of origin and then shipped overseas to the importer at the port of destination.

2. Air Shipment

When speed is your priority, air shipping is the solution. While air transportation is one of the most expensive modes of transportation due to the requirement of speed and cost of fuel, shipping cargo by air is critical for markets and supply chains that rely on expedited delivery services. With shipping lead-time 5-7 days, air shipment is often used when clients need to get the cargo rapidly and reliably. From pickup to delivery, the process is straightforward. The logistics provider will coordinate with a local carrier to pick up at your warehouse or holding facility. Once the freight is loaded, the carrier will tender the shipment to the airport, where it will be put onto a plane. When the shipment arrives at the destination airport, your carrier will arrange for pickup and delivery. Compared to other modes of freight shipping, air transportation requires less documentation and handling of the cargo and offers an enhanced level of security, as well as reliable arrival and departure times.

3. Express

International air shipment and express shipments are not the same things. Express shipment is usually handled by DHL, UPS or FedEx, with shipping from door to door in one week. These express shipping methods are suitable for smaller order less than one cubic meter and 200 kilograms. Air shipment can be significantly larger and may move across multiple carriers during shipment, with shipping from airport to airport.

THE K HANDMADE FAMILY FACTORY guarantees safe, on-time delivery of your shipments, and offers high-quality service at the most affordable shipping rates. In cooperation with our partners, we are confident that we can offer a full range of services to fit your needs. Naturally, you will want to know which method is going to cost you the least. Cost can vary depending on the number of goods that need to be transported, as well as how much each of them weigh. To be equipped to make the best decision, it helps to understand how carriers charge for their shipping. Airlines bill you on chargeable weight, which is calculated by combining the weight and size of a shipment. Sea carriers usually charge per container, although weight can also factor into the price. You also need to take note of destination charges.

Different methods of transport differ in their reliability and regularity. Airlines tend to be on top of their schedules, whereas ships are notorious for delays due to unforeseen circumstances. Ships usually have weekly schedules, so missing the cut-off time at a seaport can mean a much longer delay. It’s a good idea to ensure that the company you use offers you the option to track your goods online. This way, you can maintain peace of mind throughout the process, no matter which method of transportation you choose.
